Simon Victor Linsteadt is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles. Since 2013 he has composed music for chamber ensemble, film/tv, and performance art, and released numerous albums. Since 2021 he has composed over thirty pieces for the radio program This American Life.
He has composed music and sound design for numerous dance performances at Z Space Theater in San Francisco, Fort Mason San Francisco Aerial Festival, and San Francisco International Arts Festival. He collaborates frequently with the aerial dancer and multi-disciplinary artist Helen Wicks.
In 2025 Simon created Ionic Order, a music and sound studio working across media and design. His work includes score and sound for a number of Ray-Ban and Meta brand campaign videos along with sonic logos for Stitzlein Studio, a graphic design firm based in San Francisco.
He has performed at such venues as The Fillmore, The Great American Music Hall, Strawberry Music Festival, The Freight and Salvage, and many more. In 2016 he was selected as a featured artist at the International Bluegrass Music Awards in Raleigh, NC where he and his band Steep Ravine gave a number of performances.
